As you know, there have been an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in our area. We have been notified by the Albany County Health Department that someone who was in our worship service on October 18th tested positive for Covid-19 last week. We are also now aware of a second person who is currently showing symptoms and awaiting test results. Neither individual was at BCC on October 25th.
After consulting with the health department about the precautions that we have had in place since reopening, they have not asked us to close, nor have they conveyed any reason for concern that anyone else was exposed to Covid-19 while at church. That being said, out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to cancel all small groups for the week of October 25th and move the November 1st service entirely online HERE. This will allow us to ensure that there are no additional cases directly linked to BCC before we gather again and that we are indeed taking every necessary and reasonable precaution to keep our church family safe and healthy.
We want to be as open with you as possible and ask for your prayers for those in our community who have been affected. God has been gracious to BCC for the past many months and He will not leave us or forsake us now. If you have been at BCC recently and are exhibiting symptoms or have tested positive for Covid-19, please contact Pastor Andrew or Pastor Geoff at 518-439-3135. Of course, all such conversations will be strictly confidential. We are one body in Christ and are here to serve and support one another. We do not anticipate that the church will be closed for a significant period and look forward to gathering together again very soon.
Prayerfully serving Him,
The BCC Elders
