What to Expect

Who We Are

Bethlehem Community Church is a non-denominational, elder-led Christian church located about 7 miles southwest of Albany, NY. We have been a stable ministry for over a half century with an average attendance of 250 people. Bethlehem Community Church, or BCC as it is often called, is a family of believers from many different social and economic backgrounds united in our commitment to the great commandment and the great commission.

Our Sunday Worship Service

Sunday Worship Service begins at 10 a.m. in the main sanctuary,

and lasts about an hour.

Communion is served on the fourth Sunday of every month.

It is an open communion available to anyone who has saving faith in Jesus Christ.

We strongly urge all those who profess faith in Jesus Christ to be baptized.

Baptisms are celebrated on occasion as part of our Sunday Worship Service.

Though we do not practice infant baptism,

we dedicate children to the Lord in a brief ceremony during Sunday service.

Children's Ministry

We have a robust Children's Ministry.  Our Sunday School runs AWANA from 10-11:15am.  For more information, please visit our Children's Ministry page.

Music & Worship

Volunteer worship leaders head three teams of musicians.

We have a vibrant and diverse worship community. The instrumentation is mostly acoustic with a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary Christian songs.

Fellowship & Food

Although Covid-19 has limited our ability to gather in the way and with the frequency that we traditionally have, we long for the time when we can return to enjoying the company of our church family together!

At BCC, we love to gather, to laugh and to eat. This happens frequently in informal settings when congregants are invited to each other’s homes or one of the local eateries. We also provide times for gathering at the church including First Sunday Fellowship where the Deaconesses host a time after service. We also host men’s and women’s breakfasts, newcomers’ luncheons, as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, a full Seder on Good Friday, a summer barbecue and occasional “agape dinners” which are often held to welcome back congregants from mission trips.

Location

We are located at 201 Elm Ave, Delmar, NY 12054.  We are at the corner of Elm Avenue and Route 32 in the Town of Bethlehem, NY.  We have a large parking lot with plenty of handicap spaces.  Overflow parking is available in the CDTA Park-and-Ride next door.
