Bethlehem Community Church (BCC) is seeking a full-time Pastor to serve as the primary preacher/teacher, joining the other Pastors/Elders in leading this congregation. BCC is a non-denominational, plurality elder-led, conservative Christian church, located about 7 miles southwest of Albany, the state capital of New York. We have been a stable ministry for over a half-century with an average attendance of 200 people. BCC is a family of believers from many different social and economic backgrounds, united in our commitment to the great commandment and the great commission. We believe we offer the right servant leader of God an invigorating opportunity to build the Kingdom of God with strong, Spirit-filled disciples.
The Pastors/Elders of Bethlehem Community Church advocate and communicate the mission of God’s church, and are responsible for the spiritual growth, welfare, and life of the congregation.
The Pastor will be the primary teacher and preacher for the church. He will teach God’s word according to sound doctrine, explaining it in a straightforward, easy-to-understand manner; providing application while always returning to the finished work of Christ crucified and resurrected. He will preach on at least 42 Sundays in a calendar year, including Easter, Christmas Eve, and during other special services.
The Lead Pastor will be a passionate born-again follower of Christ with a testimony of conviction, repentance, and transformation.
Additionally, the Lead Pastor must:
• Be committed to an orthodox understanding of Christian faith.
• Agree with our “Statement of Faith.”
• Have at minimum a Master of Divinity degree.
• Have experience preaching, preferably for at least 3 years.
• Be a committed biblical scholar.
• Be committed to Elder plurality polity.
